William Whiteley, born 1796, his wife Elizabeth and their four children: Joseph, Ann, Mary and Simeon emigrated to the United States of America in 1842.
The ship that they sailed on was the Roscoe, a schooner, it was 70 feet long weighed 112 tons and had 2 sails. It left Liverpool (date unknown) and arrived in New York on the 4th of August 1842.
The family survived the journey and their descendants are still living there today.
He was my second cousin five times removed.
